What inspired you to become a hairdresser? Hair is an incredible creative outlet. I found a synergy between my love of art, fashion, design, and human behavior through hair styling. I approach hair as sculpture and create shapes that allow the wearer freedom + flow. Hair is a representation of the individual and helps tell your story.
How long have you been in the salon industry + when did you become a salon owner? I've been a stylist since 2004 and have had a very fulfilling career. I've had the opportunity to experience traveling, one-of-a-kind educational programs, and connect with so many fascinating individuals. I opened Lumière in 2014 with the intent of creating a space where stylists can express their artistry + consumers can explore their persona's. It's been a non-stop learning opportunity that I feel incredibly blessed + humbled by.
What techniques or services do you specialize in? I love cutting hair. I remember what it's like to be the "client" sitting in the chair, trusting someone to understand your goals + then hope they hear you. I've worked with many (if not all) hair types + am grateful to have had two decades behind the chair. The key to a great cut is communication + a realistic understanding of what is suitable for the day-to-day lifestyle of the wearer; styling routines, tools, maintenance/upkeep, and how their face shape, texture, density, and hair health will effect their overall results.
What is your favorite part about being a stylist? The people. I'm also a certified Mental Health Coach + Wardrobe Stylist. To me, there is nothing more satisfying than to see people's complete expressions come into focus. If your hair or image doesn't look or feel like YOU, you're missing a great opportunity to feel a sense of wholeness.
How would you describe your styling approach? Intuitive. Not everyone can describe their goals + needs. Seeing an individual and meeting them where they are at is what I would consider a strength of mine. Bringing out the best version of you + empowering your confidence. I like to establish what our long-term goal is going to be + discuss how the hair will behave over time. My clients find a lot of value in an effortless style that wears well over time.

What inspired you to become a hairdresser? I My passion for the beauty industry came from my own experiences struggling to find a stylist that understood my needs. That inspired me to pursue a career where I could make others feel seen and heard. My goal is to help clients achieve the look they envision, even when they feel they lack the tools or guidance to bring it to life.
How Long Have You Been In The Industry? I’ve been in the beauty industry since 2017 and have loved every step of the way.

What’s Your Favorite Part Of Being A Stylist? I truly love connecting with my clients - listening to them share their favorite show, books, and stories. It’s such a privilege to be part of both the big and small moments in their lives, and I’m grateful for the trust they place in me.

What inspired you to become a hairdresser?I’ve always loved doing hair, even as a kid. Before basketball games, I would braid my teammates’ hair, style my sister’s hair before dances, and even get told, “This isn’t beauty school,” when I played with friends’ hair in class. For my senior project, I job-shadowed a hairstylist, which only confirmed what I already knew—hair was something I was naturally drawn to. It never felt like work to me, just something I truly enjoyed.
How long have you been in the industry? 9 years.
Do you specialize in any services or techniques? Balayages and natural lived in colors.
What’s your favorite part of being a hairdresser? I’m passionate about art, and being behind the chair feels like an extension of that creativity. Every cut, color, and style is like crafting a unique masterpiece. I also love the freedom that comes with making my own schedule, allowing me to balance my work and personal life while doing what I love.
How would you describe your styling approach? Educating my clients on what’s possible to bring their vision to life is something I truly enjoy. I love sharing my knowledge, helping them understand their hair’s potential, and guiding them toward the best styles, treatments, and techniques to achieve their desired look.
